This post has been the hardest post that I have had to create. Why? Because I’m a social media believer, I believe in Facebook, lol… (As if that’s really social media), but this has been my problem with creating this post. How do you open your mind enough to take the opposite stance, when it seems that you are moving in the same direction as the rest of the world?
However, I goggled, once again, to see what the national opinion is on this subject. After reading the conversations on this pictualar site, I have a new understanding. http://www.grokdotcom.com/2008/11/18/social-media-is-not-media/ this site reflects many onions, some I never took into consideration.
For instance, Facebook is stretching social media kind of far, or is it? While we can get up to date play by play information on Facebook, who validates this info? In most cases it’s hear say. We can search for a new job using Monster.com, jobs.com, etc; so much so that physical newspaper help wanted section had become almost obsolete. Unfortunately while millions of employers are able to post millions of open positions, many employment seeking employees find it hard to follow up on these positions; as they rarely have follow up information listed.
We slowly see the effects of today’s social media pushing yesterday’s social media into nonexistence, but then again, change is constant.
